Highly Recommended Protein Foods for Your Six Pack Abdominal Muscle Workouts

If you are engaging in exercises to build up and tone your abdominal muscles, you will need to consume more protein to aid in building your abdominal muscles. You need protein to build and repair muscle tissues and proteins could also serve as a source of calories for the energy needs of the body. However, you have to be caul in your search for extra protein as some of the common sources of protein also contain high levels of fat. Most nutritionists recommend that the best sources of protein are proteins from natural foods; you should only take protein supplements like protein shakes if you cannot get as much protein as you need from your diet without exceeding your daily calorie requirements.

So, here are some of the natural foods that you should consume to supply your body with most of the protein that your body needs to build up your abdominal muscles:

      1-Sea foods and fish

Fish is regarded to be one of the healthiest sources of protein for people that want to build up their body muscles. Tuna fish in particularly is an extremely good source of protein; just make sure that you use tuna in water or brine; avoid eating tuna in oil.

Other good protein rich fish are deep sea fish like mackerels, sardines, pilchards, salmons and other trouts. These oily fish also contains lots of essential fatty acids.

      2-Poultry meat

Poultry white meat from chicken and turkey is very rich in protein; another good thing about this kind of white meat is that it does not contain much fat. However, the skins of these poultry meats are full of bad cholesterol fat so, they should be removed from these white meats before eating them.

      3-Eggs

Eggs are very healthy foods. There was once a time when eggs were thought to contain lots of harmful cholesterol, but recent scientific information has revealed that the type of cholesterol inside eggs is actually beneficial to the body. The white part of the egg is rich in protein while the yolk is rich in calories and other beneficial nutrients so, it advisable that you eat the whole egg to benefit maximally.

One delicious egg based fat burning recipe that you can eat is scrambled eggs with smoked salmon.

      4-Low fat milk

If you want to drink milk as a source of protein, make sure you drink only the low fat milk; avoid buying latte from coffee shops.

      5-Lean lamb and beef

The leaner the meat that you eat is, the more the protein it contains. Do not eat burger meats as these meats have high fat and low quality protein content thus eventually leading to cardiovascular diseases like stroke, heart attacks etc.

      6-Lean pork chops

If you want to eat pork as a healthy source of protein, you have to eat high quality lean pork meat. You should avoid the pork meat in sausages, hotdogs, bacon, salami etc as these meats also contain lots of fat.

7-Other high quality sources of meat protein
Other good sources of meat protein include rabbit, lamb, and venison meat.
      8-Low fat cheese
Low fat cheese is a good source of protein. A good example of low fat cheese is cottage cheese.

Are Your Blood Sugars High in the Morning

Two common reasons for this are the Dawn Phenomenon and the Somogyi Effect:

      Dawn Phenomenon

Every human being experiences the Dawn Phenomenon. While we sleep, usually around 3-8 AM, glucose is released in response to the stimulus of some hormones in order to repair and maintain our body. These hormones are growth hormone, cortisol, glucagon, and epinephrine (also called adrenalin), which are also known as counterregulatory hormones, since they have the opposite effect of insulin: they cause glucose levels to rise.
      - About.com - The Dawn Phenomenon and the Somogyi Effect

      Somogyi Effect

The Somogyi Effect happens when your blood glucose levels are high in the morning due to hypoglycemia (low blood glucose levels) overnight. [Low blood sugars can occur when there is extra insulin in the body.] This is also called rebound hyperglycemia, since your body reacts to low blood glucose levels by increasing the release of glucose from muscles, liver and fat, theore causing hyperglycemia.
      - About.com - The Dawn Phenomenon and the Somogyi Effect

How Can You Tell the Difference?

      • If the blood sugar level is low at 2 a.m. to 3 a.m., suspect the Somogyi effect.
      • If the blood sugar level is normal or high at 2 a.m. to 3 a.m., its likely the dawn phenomenon.
        - A-Z Health Guide from WebMD: Dawn phenomenon and the Somogyi effect

      What Can You Do?

Once you and your doctor determine the cause, there are a number of options. These include changing the time, the type, or the amount of insulin you take, making adjustments to your evening snack, or switching to an insulin pump.

      Mark It On Your Calendar

Many people start the new year with a new calendar, appointment book or journal.

Since diabetes involves a relatively busy care schedule, its helpful to mark your 2006 calendar with dates for recommended screenings and scheduled doctors visits.

If you use insulin, your physician may be scheduling you for visits every 3 months. Even if you dont use insulin, the ADA recommends you see your doctor at least every 6 months to monitor your blood pressure, weight, and glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c).

Besides regular doctor visits, you may want to make entries for visits to your podiatrist, dentist, eye doctor, diabetes educator, or dietitian. The Diabetes Monitor offers a printable log where you can keep track of your visits, lab results, and goals. It includes the helpful list:

Things to Do At Least Once a Year
      • Get a flu shot (October to mid-November).
      • Get a pneumonia shot (if you’ve never had one).
      • Get a dilated eye exam.
      • Get a foot exam (including check of circulation and nerves).
      • Get a kidney test.
        • Have your urine tested for microalbumin.
        • Have your blood tested for chemicals that measure your kidney function.
      • Get a 24-hour urine test (if your doctor advises).
      • Get your blood fats checked for:
        • Total cholesterol.
        • High-density lipoprotein (HDL).
        • Low-density lipoprotein (LDL).
        • Triglycerides.
      • Get a dental exam (at least twice a year).
      • Talk with your health care team about:
        • How well you can tell when you have low blood glucose.
        • How you are treating high blood glucose.
        • Tobacco use (cigarettes, cigars, pipes, smokeless tobacco).
        • Your feelings about having diabetes.
        • Your plans for pregnancy (if a woman).

Ask the Internet How Do You Organize Your Recipes

Sweet Angela, Bea, and Rosalind, readers! Ask and ye shall receive. Last week, I threw myself at your feet and you lifted me up with more slow cooker tips and recipes than I can use in this lifetime. I am heartily grateful.

This week’s multi-part question is born out two-parts need for decluttering solutions and one-part sheer curiosity:

Q: Readers, I gotta know, 1) how do you keep track of your recipes and 2) what’s your favorite method for reading a recipe while cooking? Dog-earred cookbooks? An index card file? Are you going digital? 3)What are your favorite recipe organization tools/applications?

A: My 1-ft by 1-ft countertop makes using cookbooks cramped and messy. Recently, I used Charming Boyfriend’s smartphone to pull up a recipe while at the farmer’s market and then in the kitchen while preparing the dish. (See last week’s Top-Crust Peach and Cardamom Pie on Serious Eats.) More and more, I find myself replacing my tried-and-true (and recklessly scattered) index cards, which I magnetize to the fridge, with my laptop, which I set it on top of the fridge and use as a recipeasel (though I fear one day it may meet a fiery end).

What about you, beloved readers? Do you still prop up the cookbook on the counter with a canister of flour and a wooden spoon or is the iPad-integrated kitchen on your wishlist? The comments are ready to accept your wisdom.

Want to ask the interweb a question? Post one in the comment section, or write to Cheaphealthygood@gmail.com. Then, tune in next Tuesday for an answer/several answers from the good people of the World Wide Net.

If you’re diet is already iron-clad, please offer some advice and encouragement for those who are struggling to make the change. This challenge will actually go a little longer than a week so that everyone has time to make the changes, and so we can get on a Monday-Friday schedule…

      Nutrition Basics

Nutrition can have a tremendous impact on overall health and will be a large part of the focus of the challenge. If you’ve been a Wellness Mama reader for a while, you know that I’m not a fan of grains, sugars and starches and recommend removing them from your diet. Of course, only if you are making sure to get adequate nutrition from proteins, fats and vegetables.
Some foods, like beans, are of questionable nature, so for the duration of the challenge, I’d suggest removing them too! Others, like vegetable oils, margarine, and other frankenfats are toxic and should be avoided completely, challenge or not!
      Mini Challenge #1
Cut out the grains, sugars, potatoes, beans and all processed foods from your diet and focus on getting maximum nutrition from meats, vegetables, healthy fats (coconut, olives, coconut oil, olive oil, tallow, lard, butter, unprocessed cream, etc) and fruits.
Everyone is entering the challenge for different reasons, but if one of your goals is to lose weight or improve your physique, consider drastically reducing your carbohydrate intake.
If weight loss is a serious goal, this will mean that that morning bowl of oatmeal or potato salad at lunch is out. To keep it simple, just get your carbs from vegetables (minus potatoes) and you’ll be fine! One exception, if you struggle from low-thyroid, don’t drop your carbs too low for too long, as this can stress the thyroid, just make sure to get your carbs from healthy foods like sweet potatoes, winter squash, fruit, and grain-free baked goods!
[Note: Some people experience a "carb flu" as their body adjusts to not having a constantly available stream of glucose. This is temporary, but can be uncomfortable for the first couple of weeks. Check out these two posts by Dr. Michael Eades to help make the transition easier

We’ll be addressing some specifics that can help with your individual goals in the next few weeks (supplements, what type of exercise, etc) but nutrition is the single most important factor and all the other factor’s can’t fix a poor diet!

Hydrate Your Body for Stress Relief

There are a number of different situations that we regularly deal with which can affect, not only are physical bodies but also our mental abilities as well. A good example of this is dehydration and although many individuals may not really think about the amount of water that they drink, you would be surprised with how much it can affect your overall health.

The human body is made up of a large percentage of water and the human brain is made up of an even higher percentage of water than many other areas of the body. That is why it is so important for us to make sure that we are staying properly hydrated, simply because our body needs this water in order to function properly. Getting this water naturally and consistently will help you to be able to deal with stressful situations in your life, something that all of us regularly have.
The unfortunate thing is, the vast majority of us have been dehydrated for most of our lives. Some of us may have been dehydrated, even as very young children. The good news is, however, by hydrating ourselves properly now we can help to overcome many of the problems that we may be facing as a result of that dehydration. This can help us to achieve a balance within our bodies that will allow us to face any stressful situations and overcome them much easier than what we can now.

Hydrating yourself is not that difficult to do, but it is going to require some persistence on your part. You need to drink half of your body weight every day in ounces of water. In other words, if youre a 200 pound man, you need to drink 100 ounces of water every day. This number may go up if you exercise regularly and it may need to be adjusted according to the individual. Along with the water that you are drinking, you need to make sure that you are taking some natural sea salt in order to balance your body further. The salt will help to keep the water from running through you so quickly that it flushes out your electrolytes.
Its a small thing to do, but it is something that many of us can benefit from if we are able to do it regularly. Why not start hydrating yourself right now? You will begin to see the benefits that it provides for you and the stress busting relief very quickly.

Little Known Secret How Traffic Lights Can Help You Maintain Your Weight

No I dont want you to go and stare at a set of traffic light you will be relieved to hear.Let me explain, all too often when we are in the process of losing weight and keeping it off we unintentionally sabotage ourselves by getting caught up in a dieters mind-set.I have a technique for you to integrate into your weight loss efforts that I think will really help you.Lets say for arguments sake that you have lost X number of pounds and you now weigh 150lbs (insert your weight) and are considering taking a well-deserved break.

This is when dieters mind-set rears its ugly head and can very easily undo all your good work, but not if you know how to work with it instead of against it.The conversation inside your head normally goes as follows, "I have to stay at exactly 150lbs" not a pound more not a pound less"... sound familiar.

This mentality will absolutely guarantee that two things will happen next, the first is that you will be constantly miserable as you are giving yourself a task that will need superhuman effort to maintain.

The second thing to happen is that your weight will creep up a pound or two and you will start accusing yourself of being weak willed, a failure, or any of your other favourite put downs you use on yourself, all because your expectation exceeded reality.

What about a new way of thinking with the method I shall now explain.

We all know how traffic lights work dont we? Red amber green, you know the drill, so lets say as before your weight is 150lbs, well that would put you in the green zone and you can afford to put on a pound or so without any undue concern.

If you put on two pounds you are now in the amber zone and it is time to formulate a plan to lose that weight, if you put on three pounds then you are in the red zone and it is now time to put that plan into action and stick with it until you are back in the green zone, which should only take a week or two at most.

Such an easier way of looking at things dont you think?

No beating yourself up, no feeling like a failure, just you making a choice of thinking a new way instead of trying and failing to stick to a rigid all or nothing plan.

I use this plan myself and it has helped me first to take off 60lbs and then to maintain it, this plan allows me to have occasional treats and rewards because I know I have a three-pound window to play about with,.if you want to lose weight and keep it off permanently then youre thinking has to change from what you have done in the past.

If you chose to get only liability coverage, you may still be on the hook for your own damage, but you will be glad you avoided the legal trouble in most states and writing a hefty check for the other person. The same goes for life insurance.

Life Insurance Protects Your FamilyIf your husband or wife were to pass away, the last thing you will want to deal with is money. Yet, funerals cost money. A little foresight will allow you to grieve without the stress of money, taking days off work and planning a funeral. You and your spouse should consider your options before tragedy strikes your home. There are many types of coverage, and depending on what you are looking for, you may want to do a little research. The most promoted policies are term and whole life. They carry different benefits. A whole life policy costs a little more but allows you to build savings. The company will offer a higher percentage rate than a typical saving plan. Another benefit is that you can often borrow against it. You can withdraw the money for a new roof and pay yourselves back. No questions asked, just call and ask for a check.

A term policy is going to cost less. The benefit is that your family can be fully insured for less money a month. You will want to talk with your agent to discuss how much coverage you need. Your agent will discuss other scenarios with you. For instance, what would happen if you were to both pass away and leave your children orphans? They will discuss how much coverage you would want for that. They will inform you on the types of life insurance policies they offer that would protect your family.

Coupled with drawing up a will, life insurance can be a gift you give your family. Like auto insurance, you will wish you never have to use it. If something happens and you need it, you will be glad you took the time to make this important purchase. Take advantage of this to discuss other plans to care for your family in tragedy. Be sure both spouses know where the bills are, all account numbers and any policy numbers. Do anything you can to make a terrible time easier. You will never regret taking the time.

In Hamilton OH life insurance is just as important as anywhere else. Find an agent, discuss your needs, and get the coverage you and your family deserve. For more information, visit http://www.ingraminsuranceoh.net.

      Are You Starving Your Hair

Blame it on the weather or a terrible cut, but the real reason behind
      consistently
bad hair days may be what your eat, not what you use
      to style your hair.

The first step in getting healthier hair is modifying your diet, which can be as
simple as cutting out foods that provide no nutritional value, vitamins, or proteins.

HEALTHY HAIR GROWTH: A diet rich in protein, especially soy, is believed
      to encourage hair growth.

STOP DANDRUFF: Necessary to repair damaged hair and cells, zinc, which
is found in whole grains, also reduces the incidence of dandruff.

KEEP THE SCALP HYDRATED: Found in flaxseed, walnuts, and salmon,
omega-3 fatty acids act as a natural conditioner of sorts for the scalp.

THE HAIR STRENGTHENER: All types of vitamin B, like B2, B6, and B12,
are beneficial since they carry oxygen and nutrients to the scalps and hair follicles, improve hair strength and regulate sebum production.

      FOODS TO AVOID:
When modifying your "hair" diet, you may want to cut your intake of these foods by at half since they can prevent the absorption of B vitamins, iron, and zinc.

3 Things That Will Instantly Reduce Your Stress

Would you like to be able to get rid of your stress instantly and easily ?  There are a few things that you can do which will help you to be able to achieve a peaceful mental attitude that will really lower your stress levels and help you cope with the day as it comes to you.  Of course, these are not going to be permanent solutions to the problems that you are facing but they will be able to help you to sort those problems out and to deal with them, one at a time.

The first thing that you can do to reduce your stress levels is to meditate regularly.  I find that meditating in the morning for a half hour can really help me to get ready for the day and to deal with it successfully.  If you dont have the benefit of time in order to meditate in this way, you might also find that simply meditating for a few minutes periodically throughout the day will also help to reduce your stress as well.  All you really need to do is to close your eyes and go to some place in your mind that is peaceful.  That peace will stick with you and help you to cope with any stressful situations you are facing.

Something else that I like to do regularly is to laugh a little bit.  This is not always something that is going to be convenient for us to do, especially if we are in the middle of work but if we can find a way to let out the stress through laughter, it can work to almost instantly reduce your stress levels.  I like to keep comedy CDs in my car so that I can listen to them on the way home from work.  This helps to reduce my stress and keeps me from taking the stress from my work into my home environment.

One final thing that you can do which helps to reduce stress instantly is to use acupressure.  The two acupressure points that help to reduce your stress are located directly between the eyes, in a soft spot above the nose and an additional soft spot on the crown of the head.  By applying light pressure to these two regions for 30 seconds, you will help to restore a flow of energy in the body that will reduce your stress instantly.

Healthy weight loss can be challenging but the rewards are worth the time and effort. The following simple tips will help you lose excess weight and tone up:

      1. Set a realistic goal weight
Clearly establishing what weight you would like to be by a certain date is important as it helps focus your efforts. As you see the pounds melt away, week after week, you will have renewed motivated to continue towards your goal.

      2. Keep a food diary
If you think you are eating healthy but are still finding it difficult to lose the extra weight try keeping a food diary. Keeping a food diary will help you understand your relationship with food and will show you if you are overeating certain types. Be honest and you will see real benefit from this technique.

      3. Eat healthy snacks
Between meals don’t reach for a chocolate bar or packet of crisps, try to snack on fruit or nuts instead. Almond nuts in particular are very nutritious, packed full of protein and help you to feel younger for longer.

      4. Eat consciously
Healthy weight loss can be made easier by ensuring that you are actually hungry before you eat - don’t eat out of boredom or habit. Try to sit down and really enjoy what you are eating.

      5. Regular exercise
It’s important to exercise regularly, find a sport or form of exercise that you love and it won’t feel like a chore. Go for a walk, join tag rugby or cycle with a friend – the possibilities are endless.

      6. Portion control
This is a very simple tip that not many people undertake. Smaller portion sizes are key to a healthy weight loss. Using smaller plates (9 inches in diameter rather than 12 inches) can help with portion control.

      7. Get support
If you are struggling on your own why not ask a friend to start their own healthy weight loss initiative. Having an ally can help motivate you and keep you on track. Alternatively seek the help of a professional weight management clinic or club, their expert advice can help ensure that you continue to lose weight healthily.

Remember: don’t give up even if you have a bad day; try to keep positive and just start fresh. You will have weeks that seem tougher than others but just keep going, the reward will be worth all the effort.

Naturally Lower Your Cholesterol Through The Food You Eat

Cholesterol is measured in three ways, LDL (bad) cholesterol, HDL (good) cholesterol, and total cholesterol. Cholesterol is determined by a couple of different factors genetics, diet and exercise. One’s diet is the easiest factor to control. However, peoples eating habits have declined over the years and diets are filled with highly processed, high fat, and high sugar foods. This raises the bodies LDL bad cholesterol and lowers the HDL good cholesterol. High LDL cholesterol levels are bad because it raises blood pressure, increases plaque build up in arteries and increases the risk for heart disease and heart attack. Lowering your bad cholesterol should be a major concern and by eating these foods you can start reducing your LDL levels today. Remember to eat a variety of these foods on a daily basis to get the maximum cholesterol lowering effects.

      1. Oats/Oatmeal- Oats are part of the whole grain group of food and should be consumed on a daily basis. Oats are one of the best sources of soluble fiber. It is recommended to consume 20-35 grams of fiber a day, with 5-10 grams being soluble fiber. Due to the switch to highly processed flour and refined grains, which are cheaper and easier to produce, Americans are taking in less fiber and our cholesterols are rising because of it. Soluble fiber is important in lowering low-density lipoprotein (LDL) also known as bad cholesterol. Soluble fiber works by reducing both total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol. So eat a bowl of oatmeal or cold oat based cereal to boost your fiber intake and lower your cholesterol. Also include oat bran, barley and other whole grains n your diet to reduce your risk for heart disease.

      2. Beans- Beans are another source of valuable soluble fiber. Therefore eating 1/2 cup of beans a day can reduce your cholesterol. Additionally beans fill you up and take a long time to be digested by the body. This is why beans are a perfect food to lower cholesterol. Plus there are so many different choices of beans such as navy, kidney, pinto, lentils, garbanzos, black eye peas, etc.

      3. Nuts- Nuts such as almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, peanuts, pecans, pistachios, and some pine nuts are great for lowering LDL cholesterol and raising good HDL cholesterol. Nuts are rich in unsaturated fats, which keep the blood vessel to the heart healthy. These fats make LDL cholesterol unable to oxidize therefore reducing the plaque build up in arteries, which can cut off blood flow to the heart. By reducing plaque build up you reduce your risk for heart disease. Nuts are high in calories so limit your intake to about a handful or 1.5 ounces a day and avoid salted or sugar coated nuts.

      4. Olive oil- Olive oil is rich in antioxidants and monounsaturated fats, which lower LDL cholesterol. Olive oil is also rich in phenolics, a plant substance that makes blood less likely to clot. Because olive oil is high in calories, limit your intake to 2 tablespoons a day. To reap all the heart health benefits of olive oil use it in place of butter, lard, or shortening. To get even better cholesterol lowering effect use extra virgin olive oil because the oil is less processed and contains more antioxidants. Other vegetable oils such as canola, sunflower and safflower oil also provide cholesterol-lowering benefits to the body.

      5. Fish-Fish, especially fatty fish are a heart healthy addition to ones diet. Fatty fish have high levels of omega 3 fatty acids, which reduce blood pressure, and development of blood clots. Omega 3 fatty acids reduce triglycerides in the bloodstream, which lowers LDL cholesterol and keeps blood vessels clear and healthy. Fish should be consumed at least 2 times a week. Examples of fatty fishes include salmon, halibut, mackerel, lake trout, herring, sardines, and albacore tuna. The best way to consume fish is by baking or grilling it. Omega 3’s and fish oils are available in supplementation, however fresh fish have additional nutrients such as selenium that you will miss out on when taking the pills.

      6. Fruit- Fruit is a great food for a healthy body. In addition to their vitamins they are low in calories and should consume 4-6 servings of a day. Fruits such as apples, grapes, strawberries, and citrus fruits are rich in pectin a soluble fiber that helps to lower cholesterol. Blueberries have been called a super food because of its nutritional benefits to the body. Blueberries lower LDL cholesterol in the blood, which reduces plaque build up in the arteries. Blueberries help support liver function by removing cholesterol from the system more quickly. Avocadoes are also a heart healthy fruit, full of monounsaturated fats. Avocadoes lower LDL cholesterol and remove triglycerides from the blood stream. Avocadoes are high in calories so limit your intake to a few slices per serving.

      7. Vegetables- Vegetables are very healthy for the body as a whole. They are full of vitamins and minerals are very low in calories and you should consume 6-8 servings of vegetables a day. Tomatoes are full of lycopene, which inhibit LDL production. Lycopene lowers LDL cholesterol and breaks down artery clogging plaque. Asparagus, beets, okra, carrots, eggplant, green beans, and cauliflower also help to lower cholesterol. When these vegetables are served steamed it improves their cholesterol fighting abilities. Steaming these vegetables helps to bind bile acids, therefore the liver requires more LDL cholesterol to make bile, further lowering LDL cholesterol.

Nutrition Has To Be Specific to Your Workout

When most athletes think of sports nutrition and sports supplements they think protein. But often neglected is the correct ratios for optimum recovery and enhanced muscle gains. There are numerous aspects to a post workout shake that will optimize your recovery.

Muscle glycogen depleting type of workouts need higher levels of carbohydrates in a ratio of 3 carbohydrates to every 1 protein. These type of workouts are high intensity exercises that elevate your heart rate with total time lasting longer than 20-30 minutes. Examples would be conditioning work, practice, circuit type training, games, hiking, etc. where at the end of your workout you broke a sweat. The activity would have required a mix of strength, power, and endurance.

Muscle building type of workouts are workouts that occur primarily in the weight room. These are purely anaerobic type workouts that are designed to increase strength and power. For optimum recovery and muscle building you would require a near 1 carbohydrate to 1 protein ratio. This would mean you would be ingesting more protein than you would for an endurance type of workout. Most workouts in the gym would fall under this category. However, if you do circuit type of conditioning work in the weight room that elevates your heart rate with the purpose of building endurance, you would need a muscle glycogen depleting formula of 3 carbohydrates to 1 protein.

Refueling your muscle glycogen and having appropriate amounts of carbohydrates are important for multiple reasons. The first obvious reason is that it refuels your glycogen. These are your stores of fuel located in your muscle. If you run out of glycogen, you run out of fuel. The second most important reason for having carbohydrates are that carbohydrates turn your body from a catabolic state (muscle breakdown) into an anabolic state (muscle building). Protein alone has a hard time turning your body into an anabolic state immediately after a workout. If you want to maximize your workout, build muscle, and recover faster, its important to have the correct amounts of nutrition.

By having nutrition specific to your workout, you will recover quicker and come back stronger. Its important to note that nutrition needs to be scientific and individualized to your workout. No longer are the days of just taking a protein shake and trying to get as much protein as possible. The one size fits all approach is not the most efficient way to accomplish your goals (building muscle, muscle recovery, etc.). In fact, a lot of the time that is wasted money, wasted time, and wasted workouts.
